What is Yokefellow Ministry


Congratulations!  The Yokefellow Ministry of First Baptist Church of Wahiawa focuses on harnessing the desire of men in the church to further their lives to ministry.   At best, this program ends in preparing people for deaconship but its intended result is more than that.  We firmly believe that Yokefellow will enhance men in their growth in the Lord and experience in ministry. 

In Matthew 11, Jesus invited the weak and the heavy-laden to come to him to learn and be yoked together with the Savior.  Jesus said, "take my yoke upon you and learn from me" (Matt. 11:29).  In this spirit, deacons will invite men to be joined to them for a season of serving together to learn and shar in ministry.  

Men who are serious in their walk in the Lord have great potential to be in broader service, to be ministry leaders, bible study leaders, deacon and a pastor.  These men will be yoke fellowed with a deacon of the church who will guide, hold accountable, grow and encourage for a season of time.

Month # 2:  Worship, Prayer & Service To The Church

Month # 3:  Digging in the Word

Month # 4:  Outreach and Evangelism & Service To The Community 

Month # 5:  Discileship / Discipling

Month # 6:  Lord's Supper and Hospitality

Here’s a way to approach it and where you can start learning: 1. Start with Personal Prayer If praying in public feels overwhelming, build up to it.
